Lysithea is possibly my favorite character in Fire Emblem, next to Dimitri. She’s the only 5-star exclusive character I have a +10 copy of in Heroes and the only student character aside from Flayn I consistently used in my party for every Three Houses playthrough. One of the reasons I grew to appreciate the character so much was thanks to the Tea Time events I had with her.
In this guide, I’ll first break down a general gist of what Lysithea likes for players who would like to take a guess at pleasing Lysithea (which is what I did throughout my playthroughs,) then immediately follow up with the specific selections for players who want to make a concrete decision.
Who Is Lysithea?
Lysithea von Ordelia is a young prodigy from House Ordelia who is both incredibly intelligent and skilled with magic. At the start of the game, Lysithea begins as a member of the Leicester Alliance, which makes her part of the Golden Deer at the start of the game. Of course, like most characters, she can eventually be persuaded to join the player character’s house.
Lysithea possesses both a Minor Crest of Charon and a Major Crest of Gloucester. This makes her incredibly unique, as none of the other students possess multiple crests. This uniqueness, tragically, is not a positive thing for Lysithea. Due to having the additional crest crafted onto her in a magical experiment, Lysithea’s lifespan was shortened greatly. If she wishes to live a long and fruitful life, Lysithea must find a way to remove her crests.
Personality-wise, Lysithea always does her best to appear mature and more adult than her fellow classmates. This likely stems from the fact that Lysithea is the youngest in her class by a year, partially due to her prodigy status. It doesn’t help her case that she adores cute things and sweets and often has child-like reactions when presented with either. Lysithea has a mix of exuberant innocence and intense maturity that makes her one of the funniest and most interesting characters in the story.
Lysithea’s description of being a “prodigy” is something that she’s heralded as, but it isn’t something she likes to label herself with. Instead, Lysithea likes to attribute her unbelievable magical talent to her hard work and studious nature. And while it’s undeniable that Lysithea does have more innate magical talent than the rest of her peers, it’s also difficult to argue with her stance that she works harder than them on top of that.
Why Should You Get Tea With Lysithea?
Players should get tea with Lysithea because she’s one of the most dynamic characters in Three Houses. Few characters have Lysithea’s multi-layered character design, especially outside of the house leaders. Her popularity backs up her unique nature among the students. Lysiteha placed 5th in a poll by Nintendo DREAM Magazine, just beneath the three leaders and Byleth.
In the mobile game Fire Emblem Heroes, there are annual polls to decide on the release of four special characters: two male and two female. In the very first poll available to Three Houses characters, Lysithea placed 2nd among female characters and earned a unique form. She placed alongside Dimitri, Edelgarde, and Claude. This continues a longstanding theme in community polls and perception of Lysithea: she’s by far the most beloved of the regular students and for a good reason.
Getting tea time with Lysithea isn’t’ just a reason to pursue her as a romantic option. There are plenty of other ways to decide who players will choose as Byleth’s love interest. Getting tea with Lysithea is a chance to bond with and learn about one of the game’s most beloved and unique characters. Tea with Lysithea is also a fun chance to get to explore every side of the character, as she’ll be presented with scholarly and serious topics about her past as well as topics about cute and sweet things that she finds enjoyment in.
Unlocking Tea Time
In Chapter 4, players will have access to a quest, “Tea For Two,” given by Ferdinand. The quest is relatively short, and it’s recommended that players finish it as soon as possible. After completing the quest, tea time events will be accessible through free time. Aside from free time, players will get a single tea time session with each character during their birthday.
Lysithea’s Favorite Teas
Despite wanting to appear mature, Lysithea often mentions that her weakness is her sweet tooth. Her tea taste reflects this key weakness. Players looking to get the most out of their conversations with Lysithea should be ready with the following blends:
- Southern Fruit Blend
- Sweet-Apple Blend
- Honeyed-Fruit Blend
- Crescent-Moon Tea
Lysithea’s Favorite Topics
There are a ton of conversations Lysithea may take an interest in. When choosing a topic with Lysithea, players should remember her studious and serious nature mixed with her love of food (particularly sweet food.) Anything that would come across as intellectual or regarding food is almost a surefire way to grow closer to Lysithea. Although the specific options are as follows:
- “A dinner invitation….”
- “Books you’ve read recently….”
- “Classes you might enjoy….”
- “Evaluating allies…”
- “Fodlan’s future….”
- “Hopes for your future….”

Replying to Lysithea’s Conversation
If the player does well and picks a few topics Lysithea likes, she’ll respond in kind by bringing up her own topic. To truly grow closer to Lysithea, the player will need to give a good response. If the player is looking to guess, they should remember Lysithea usually prefers an amiable response from her professor. The best responses are shown below:
- Talking to you feels worth my time. I feel there’s a lot I can learn from you: Laugh/Blush
- If I hadn’t met you, I don’t think I’d be who I am today: Laugh/Disagree
- It’s not in me to put energy into things that won’t yield results. I just don’t see the point: Chat/Admonish
- Do you believe in ghosts, professor? Just wondering: Chat/Laugh
- One of the few pleasures I find is in eating sweets. It’s…kind of embarrassing: Laugh/Nod
- I know I could stand to lighten up from time to time: Praise/Chat/Admonish
- I wonder what I’d do, who I’d be if I gave everything up for freedom. I think about that all the time: Nod/Chat
- If not for Crests, the world might’ve been a more peaceful place: Sigh/Praise/Chat
- I’m exhausted by all my incessant thoughts. I just want to empty my mind for now: Laugh/Nod/Sip Tea
Perfect Gift For Lysithea
Lysithea has a variety of favorite treats to eat, as well as other gifts that are perfect for her. As far as the gift-giving side of things goes, playing to her studious nature is usually the best call. However, players can also do no wrong by playing to her love of sweets and cute things with the Tasty Baked Treat, Armored Bear Stuffy, and Lily gifts.
- Tasty Baked Treat ★
- Arithmetic Textbook ★★★
- Armored Bear Stuffy ★★★
- Lily ★★★
- Book of Crest Designs ★★★★

Final Thoughts on Tea With Lysithea:
Lysithea has one of the best stories in all of Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Regardless of whether or not the player has an interest in Lysithea is Byleth’s romance option, she’s a fantastic character to have tea with regardless. The player has a great opportunity to hear more about a character with a great yet tragic backstory and bond with her.
As someone who has added Lysithea to my party for every single playthrough of the game, I believe she’s the type of character that every player should put effort into learning about at least once in their Three Houses experience. Should the player choose to get tea with the Ordelian prodigy, they won’t be disappointed.
